You Won’t Get Left Behind

Do you ever feel as though you’re moving at a good pace, and doing all you can to stay on track to reach that next goal? Then out of nowhere, someone, maybe a colleague or a friend, not only catches up to you, but they look to be surpassing you?

The other day I went for my morning run. I was focused on me and where I was headed without distraction. I had a good pace, and I could visualize the end goal. Out of nowhere, I could feel someone catching up to me. Moments later, a man was seemingly running beside me. Per usual, my first thought was “is he trying to race me?”, but his pace was a little quicker, and he was pushing ahead a little faster.

I didn’t want to pick up my pace to be on track with him; but I also didn’t want to get left behind.

How often do we try to keep up with someone else’s lane of destiny to ensure we don’t get left behind?

The runner then passed me by, and turned onto a different pathway, heading in another direction. Despite overthinking how fast I was going, and whether or not I could be doing more to at least remain on track with someone else, God had other plans and another lane for this guy.

Let’s remember that when we stay on our path, we won’t get left behind.

‘”For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”‘ Jeremiah 29:11

Happy Friday Everyone!
