I started my day with a morning run. When I started the trail, I saw someone’s drivers license on the ground. I picked it up and looked at the photo in hopes that I would see said person along the way. As I started, I pulled it out of my arm band to look at the height as well to eliminate people along the way. As I ran, I didn’t see anyone who resembled the 20 something year old man in the photo. When I got back to my car I looked at the date of birth. My mistake for not doing so in the beginning, but I thought that I would be returning the ID to the man in the photo, when in reality, the license belonged to a man who is 30 years older than the guy in the picture. I googled him to see what he looked like today. He’s certainly aged, and he was also the first man I passed on my run.
When we pose as the old and outdated us, we can miss blessings and opportunities that are meant for our CURRENT selves.
